Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Home at last!

Image
It's late, but we made it home safe and sound!  Isaiah is cuddled up on his favorite spot on the couch while Mom and Dad unpack the car.

Halfway Home. Isaiah's favorite stop

Image
Isaiah's favorite rest stop in Vicksburg, MS.  Two bridges, one of them a train bridge. A river, and a river boat all seen from one spot atop a bluff.  I think we stop here every trip no matter what.  Its at roughly the halfway point distance wise from home.  Even if we stay overnight in Vicksburg we end up stopping here so he can see the bridges!

Back seat blogging

Hoping this works on my iPhone. I apologize in advance for punctuation and spelling errors. Rachel's been giving me a break from driving after we passed Shreveport and we'll probably switch when we get to Vicksburg. Isaiah has been doing great so far in the car. He's definitely got his spirit back and is as stubborn as ever!  We've been having to bribe him to take his meds and as a precaution have been giving him Zofran to keep the nausea at bay. Other than that his swelling is continuing to go down but he's still pretty top heavy. A couple people have asked if there's anything they can help with once were home. We're surprised at how well he's doing so we think maybe just help with meals. We're supposed to keep close watch on him this week so quick heat up casseroles or fast food or pizza delivery place gift cards would be great so we don't have to cook too much. Other than that really continued prayers that he doesn't develop an infec...

Snow Worries!

Image
Woohoo its snowing here today and actually sticking somewhat. I got out of work a couple hours early and we took Isaiah outside to experience the snow some. He enjoyed it a ton and below is a picture of me teaching him how to catch some flakes on his tongue. It's prefect snow for a snowman and a snowball fight. My neighbor Josh and I may have one later on tonight if his wife can make it home before sunset to watch the kids.

New Pix!

Image
Wohoo, the new compy makes downloading pictures a breeze! So enjoy some of our goings on from the last month. Just click here! Included in the album are pictures from Grandpa Kolis' visit and our trip to Disney World last week among the normal stuff. There are a few of Isaiah hanging out in his new playroom, just look for the wood paneling. Enjoy! I'm still working on the video side of things and hope to be able to post some things by early next week.

New Pictures

Image
I did do it New years Weekend like I said I would, but somehow forgot to post it on the blog that I've upload a batch of new photos of Isaiah spanning from September to December of last year, including a few pictures post surgery. You can visit the full web gallery of the photos all the time from the link in the upper right corner of the page under the slideshow, but if you just want to see the new ones I just uploaded click here . Isaiah has been doing pretty good lately. We're over the bug that dogged us over Christmas, but the living room carpeting has yet to recover fully. He's starting to bear crawl more and more and he's been starting to take Frankenstein-esk steps while Rachel or I am holding him upright. We're thinking he might be going through another growth spurt again because he's eating like crazy most of the time and usually wakes up at least once in the middle of the night to chug down a bottle of milk. The playroom is working out nicely and I...

Pre Op day 11/02/09

Image
At the pulmonologists office. Doctor's visit no 5 of 6 today So today was pre operation appointment day. We had 6 different appointments, one of which was at Children's hospital closer to Downtown which is about 20-30 mins from medical city where the rest of his appointments were today. That first appointment at Children's was with Dr. Sacco, the neurosurgeon. He was very nice and had some great Eames furniture in his office (famous architects and furniture designers) He explained the whole procedure, we got to look at his MRI's which we hadn't seen the latest one of, and helped put Rachel and me at ease now that we met the other major surgeon for tomorrow. The rest of our appointments were back at medical city and we had to do the pre surgery checkin, imaging, labs, and anthropolgy all in one fell swoop of appointments. Isaiah did not enjoy the anthropologist measuring his face. Rachel was holding him in the chair, I would have to try and hold his head sti...

These are the infill pictures from after my surgery up to the present and include the trip to Chattanooga and Ruby Falls, Disney World over Labor Day, and my first haircut!

Playouse Disney Live Pt 2

Image
This is about midway through the show. He had an absolute blast. This was the last attraction we went to on Monday before heading back home. He was giggling and bopping through pretty much the entire show!

Yes that is Rachel under there, but apparently she's a peaceful bounty hunter lurking in the shop after the Star Tours ride at Hollywood Studios

Disney Playhouse Live!

Here's Mom and Isaiah patiently waiting to see Mickey Mouse, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, and Pooh and Friends live! Just the music and lights while waiting for the show to begin made him smile really big!

Test picture So we just figured out how to post camera phone pics up to the blog while we're out and about so we'll try to pop a few up of the rest of our adventures. The posts will be pretty simple like above until we get access to internet at the hotel or home, but it should mean more pictures!
